Cascade Town Centre moves forward with new project

Demo permits have been submitted

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. – New potential business inquiries involving the Cascade Town Center were introduced to Washington County’s Board of County Commissioners (BOCC).

JG Business Link International’s (JGBLI) Director of Operations, Joe Lee, updated the newest BOCC on the progress of Fort Ritchie and the Cascade Town Centre. According to Lee, demo permits are submitted and JGBLI is in communication with investors and contractors.

During the Jan.15 meeting, Lee introduced a possible business partner who currently is a representative of a pharmaceutical company in South Korea.

For Washington County residents, officials part of the project say this will bring more economic opportunity to the area.

“Well for Washington County, it brings a new business to the county itself so that increases the tax base,” said Lee. “That would be hiring of new employees but it’s also a biotech pharmaceutical company so it helps promote another industry in Washington County.”
